The story

Introduced in 1987, the Première was Chanel’s first watch collection, designed exclusively for women and bringing the Parisian house’s haute couture vocabulary into Swiss watchmaking. The Première ref. H0001 expresses that meeting through quartz timekeeping and an elongated octagonal silhouette. Its case shape pays direct tribute to the architecture of Place Vendôme and the geometric stopper of the Chanel N°5 perfume bottle: familiar design references translated into something to wear on the wrist. This example has a 20 mm steel case and is offered in good condition. Its deep-black lacquered dial is deliberately spare, with no indices or numerals, only simple gold hands and clean Chanel branding. The signature bracelet combines gold-plated chain links with an interwoven black leather ribbon, echoing the straps of Chanel’s classic quilted handbags. Against the black lacquer and leather, the gold details give the watch its jewellery-like character without crowding its small proportions. Details of the accompanying set are available on request.
