The story

The Cartier Santos pairs its distinctive square case with exposed bezel screws, a design rooted in the maison’s early wristwatch history. Its origins date to 1904, when Louis Cartier created a wristwatch for aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont to consult while flying. Part of the Santos de Cartier generation redesigned in 2018, ref. WSSA0029 carries that practical spirit forward with Cartier’s automatic manufacture calibre 1847 MC. This 2022 Santos Medium offers the balanced proportions of a 35 mm steel case on a steel bracelet. Brushed surfaces contrast with the polished bezel and its eight exposed screws, catching light as the wrist turns. The silvered opaline dial combines black Roman numerals, a railway-style minute track and blued-steel sword-shaped hands, without a date aperture to interrupt the layout. SmartLink allows tool-free bracelet adjustment, while QuickSwitch simplifies bracelet changes. Presented in good condition, this example is not yet due for service. The watch comes with its box.
