Rolex Oyster Perpetual 31 18K YG
Ref. 6751
Gold, with a burgundy accent
The story
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual brings together two milestones in the brand’s history: the Oyster case, dating to 1926, and the Perpetual rotor-winding system, introduced in 1931. The ref. 6751 belongs to that wider lineage, pairing automatic winding with compact 31 mm proportions. Its appeal here lies in the balance between a modest case size and the warmth of yellow gold. Dating to circa 1980–1990, this example has an 18K yellow gold case and a champagne sunburst dial. As the wrist turns, the dial’s finish catches the light, giving the closely matched gold and champagne tones a changing character. A burgundy leather strap adds a deeper note of colour without competing with the dial. Presented in good condition, it offers a quietly distinctive way to wear a smaller gold Rolex, whether beneath a shirt cuff or with a simple knit. The watch comes with its box. For a collector drawn to these proportions, or a wearer seeking a companion in gold, its character is easy to imagine becoming familiar: the burgundy at the wrist, the shifting light across the dial, and the occasions it will come to mark.
