The story

The Rolex Yacht-Master collection debuted in 1992, with ref. 16622 following in 1999. Its granular platinum dial gives the reference a distinctive place within Rolex’s sporting range: light in tone, with texture that reveals itself as the wrist turns. A bidirectional bezel with a 60-minute scale underlines its nautical character. Inside, the automatic Rolex calibre 3135 is a COSC-certified chronometer, with a quickset date, stop-seconds functionality and approximately 48 hours of power reserve. This 2010 example combines a 40 mm steel-and-gold case with an Oyster steel bracelet and is presented in excellent condition. The platinum dial is its defining detail, bringing a softly textured surface to an otherwise purposeful design.
